Bengaluru is going home...

It's Sunday, the 13th, 10 o'clock at night and I am in my gallery at third floor kneeling upon those railings and watching the road stretched over a kilometer. It's a pleasant atmosphere as mercury is resting in between 15-20 degree C and a silent wind is blowing around.

Over the stretch of the road, what I see is that Bengaluru is going back home. This Bengaluru is not that Bangalore which sits in an air-conditioned office and enjoy their weekends at home or indulge in some leisure activity. But this is Bengaluru that runs the city even on weekends. While going home, they don't have their Nanos', Suzukis', Fords', Hondas', Toyotas', Chevys', Merz, VWs' or Audis'. These don't even have their Splendors', Passions', Avengers' or Enfields'. Also they don't have those Volvos' carrying them to their destination. They have their special bicycles and tricycles. When Bangalore was enjoying its day, Bengaluru was out in the sun, busy earning their bread even on weekends. When Bangalore works hard for the whole day (or night, depending on their shifts) and then dismiss their work calling it off for the day, they don't struggle a lots except that for the traffic. But when Bengaluru calls it off for the day, their second work starts from there arranging their carts and then pushing, pulling or riding it back to their homes, which is another work in its own way. It has just done the same and Bengaluru is going home now. Bengaluru, hats off to you!!!

Once, long back, a friend of mine used to tell me – look Shekhar, there are so many people out there earning their lives the hard way, you are not the only one to struggle and find it painful but others take a lot more pain than you do. You should look at them and feel lucky, thank God for his mercy. Today, looking at Bengaluru, reminds me what those words meant. And I, both, thanked God for keeping me on this side and prayed for those on another side. But deep inside, I felt even with all their struggles, they are as happier as I am. Or maybe they are in much better condition, who are staying with their families which support their struggle. I am a part of Bangalore but my mom, sis and bro are 800 kms away from me and I am here all alone. And same is true with many many Bangalore dwellers, who are part of the crowd but still have their friends and families, only on their mobiles or messengers or emails. Please think Bangalore – which way you want to go. Maybe Bangalore also has few things, that it can learn from Bengaluru.

And this reminds me... I have not checked my Gmail since almost two weeks now. Had just been on Gtalk and GoTalkMobile to keep in touch back home and maybe today I have nice time to see some mails and post his blog.

It has been an hour since I had seen the scene at the road. And as I see now, pedestrians have quit the road, Bengaluru is no more active. All I see are some vehicles and that's it. Even those sign-boards, over the bus stop, that lit up during the evening have been shut down. That reminds me of a song, which I dedicate to Bengaluru, a song from movie Tezaab, sung by Nitin Mukesh, Shabbir Kumar & Alka Yadnik and composed by LP. Here it is...

So, here it is Shekhar signing off, will keep in touch posting blogs and sharing experiences, till then... CYA...

Happy Makar Sankranti !!!
